Jun 03, 2008
Belgian League champion Spirou Charleroi has started to get ready for the next 2008-09 ULEB Cup season by inking small forward Mladen Sekularac and extending playmaker Jerry Johnson. Both Johnson (183, 26) and Sekularac (203, 27) sigend respective two-year deals. Sekularac arrives from Antwerp Giants, where he has played for three seasons. He averaged 10.2 points and 2.9 rebounds last season. He has also played for Mornar and Buducnost in Montenegro, FMP Zeleznik in Serbia and Virtus Bologna in Italy. Sekularac won the Belgian Cup with the Giants in 2007 and has been a member of the Yugoslavian national team. Meanwhile, Johnson arrives in Charleroi last April and was a key factor for Spirou to win the Belgian League title, averaging 9.5 points and 3 assists in 11 games. Johnson has also played for Stade Clermontois in France, Apoel Nicosia in Cyprus, Mersin Buyuksehir in Turkey and Polphamra-Pakmet Starogard in Poland.
