Eric Campbell joins Asvel Basket for two seasons Asvel Basket has improved its frontcourt with addition of veteran Eric Campbell, who arrives from Israeli side Hapoel Holon. Campbell (199, 30) is an undersize, but extremely athletic power forward who has spent his entire professional career in Israel and France. He signed a two-year contract with the club. Campbell brings some valuable experience to the club having played seasons in the ULEB Cup and Euroleague during his two seasons with Le Mans between 2005 and 2007. He also helped Le Mans win the French championship in 2007. Last season Campbell achieved the rarest of accomplishments in Israel, helping Holon defeat perennial champion Maccabi Tel Aviv for that country’s national championship. He averaged 11.5 points and 8 rebounds per game in 26 Israeli League appearances with Holon.
