Qualifying Round H, Game 2 preview: Cajasol - ASK Riga
Cajasol needs to make up a 13-point deficit in the Eurocup second qualifying round, return leg against ASK Riga if it hopes to advance to the regular season. Head coach Manel Comas's side is looking for its first international victory in seven years after losing in Riga 82-69. Comas's team committed 22 turnovers and shot just 45% from the floor. Forward Warren Carter did score 15 points and forward Michal Ignerski added 12 points, but no other player scored in double figures. Comas's side will have to step up its game if it even wants to win its first game internationally. ASK Riga meanwhile looks poised to reach the regular season. Head coach Ramunas Butautas's Latvian giants played strong at home with center Bruno Sundov leading the way with 21 points and forward Ricardo Marsh adding 19 points. Forward Aleksic Aleksic and guard Sandis Valters both scored 10 points while forward Uvis Helmanis and guard Corey Brewer both chipped in 9 points in a winning effort. The three-time European Cup champion from Riga would be well served to hit some three-pointers early to pull away any momentum Cajasol would have from the home fans.
