Regular Season Week 3 MVP: Ivan Radenovic, Panellinios
Panellinios not only registered its first Eurocup win this week, but it came with an extra award. Star forward Ivan Radenovic registered the best individual performance in Week 3, in which Panellinios downed Bnei Hasharon 82-70 at home in Athens. Radenovic had 22 points on a near-perfect shooting night: 7-for-8 two-pointers and 8-for-9 free throws. He added 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 8 fouls drawn for a performance index rating of 39, not only the best for winning players this week but also the best single-game total so far this season. "The most important thing is that we won this game" Radenovic said. "This is the bigger reward. Sure I am happy for being MVP, but what has importance is the win. Today I am, tomorrow it can be some other MVP. I want to thank my teammates because this reward arrives thanks to team work." Khalid El-Amin of Azovmash Mariupol also shined in his team's home win against Lietuvos Rytas, and posted a 33 index rating based on his 32 points, 7 assists and 7 steals. Demetrius Alexander of Barons/LMT helped his team to a big road win against Lukoil Academic with 21 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals, enough for a 31 index rating. Bruno Sundov of ASK Riga and Joel Freeland of Kalise Gran Canaria, each with a 29 index, completed the top individual performances of the week.
Individual highs: Khalid El-Amin, Azovmash, 32 points
El-Amin was the Week 3 top scorer with 32 points against L. Rytas. He is also the regular season's best overall scorer at 20.3 points per game. Kenny Adeleke of Lukoil Academic pulled down 13 boards in his team's home loss against Barons/LMT, matching his league-high average in that category. Milt Palacio of Khimki and Shammond Williams of Pamesa Valencia dished 8 assists apiece in this round. El-Amin and Anthony Akins of Lukoil lead the assists board with 7 per game. Kelly McCarty of Khimki and Matt Nielsen of Pamesa Valencia each collected 5 steals. Billy Keys of Maroussi Costa Coffee is atop the steals standings at 3.5 per game.
