Week 4 MVP: Stefan Markovic, Hemofarm Stada
With its home victory on Tuesday, Hemofarm Stada not only improved its chances of reaching the Last 16 from regular season Group H, but one of its young stars also registered the best individual performance of Week 4. Stefan Markovic, a young veteran who at age 20 has already played 28 games in Europe's second club competition, had a career-best performance against Buducnost m:tel on Tuesday. Markovic led Hemofarm to a 89-85 win with 33 points, the highest scoring total of any Eurocup player so far this season. Markovic did his damage on remarkable 8-for-10 two-point, 2-for-4 three-point and 11-for-12 free-throw shooting. He added 7 rebounds, 3 steals, 3 assists and 10 fouls drawn for a 43 performance index rating, also a single-game high so far in the Eurocup this season. Following Markovic were Deyan Ivanov of Zadar, Michael Wright of Turk Telekom, Demetrius Alexander of Barons/LMT and Chuck Eidson of Lietuvos Rytas, all of whom were tied with 32 index ratings. Ivanov had 18 points and 14 rebounds in Zadar's home win against Chorale Roanne. Wright shined with 21 points on 8-for-9 two-pointers and 10 rebounds to help Turk Telekom down Aris BSA. Alexander had 18 points and 14 rebounds in Barons' home loss against Lukoil Academic. And last but not least, Eidson had 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead L. Rytas to a critical home win against Azovmash Mariupol.

Markovic was also the Week 4 top scorer, as he had 33 points against Buducnost, almost doubling his previous career-high. Chris Monroe is the Eurocup's top overall scorer at 20.5 points per game. Dimitrios Mavroeidis of Maroussi led all rebounders by pulling down 15 in his team's home win against ASK Riga. Despite not playing this week, Kenny Adeleke of Lukoil (13 rpg.) stayed atop the overall standings. Anthony Grundy of Panellinios dished 9 assists to lead the weekly standings. Khalid El-Amin of Azovmash and T.J. Thompson of STB Le Havre tie for the first place overall at 5.3 assists per night. Ori Ichaki of Bnei Hasharon collected 6 steals, more than anyone in Week 4. Mire Chatman is the steals leader with 3.25 on average. Ichaki's teammate Shawn James had 5 blocks in Hasharon's home win against Panellinios. John Turek of PGE Turow leads the blocks standings at 2.25 per night. Eight players - Eidson, Wright, Alexander, Ivanov, Ousmane Cisse of Bnei Hasharon, Vladimir Veremeenko of Unics Kazan, Marcus Slaughter of STB Le Havre and Bruno Sundov of ASK Riga - registered respective double-doubles in Week 4.
