Andreas Glyniadakis - Maroussi Costa CoffeeThis season's first application of a Eurocup rule limiting weekly MVPs to winning teams only has given Maroussi Costa Coffee center Andreas Glyniadakis that honor for Week 1 of the Last 16. Glyniadakis was the main man as Maroussi started Group I with the week's widest victory margin, 71-58 at home in Athens over dangerous BC Khimki Moscow Region of Russia. Glyniadakis had 21 points on 6-for-9 two-pointers and 9-for-11 free throws while pulling down 9 rebounds and drawing 10 fouls for a performance index rating total of 29. It was by virtue of his team's victory, however, that Glyniadakis was awarded ahead Zadar big man Deyan Ivanov, who had the week's highest index rating, 35. Zadar lost against Turk Telekom on the road as Ivanov piled up 23 points on 8-for-9 two-point shooting while also collecting 16 rebounds, 3 assists and 6 fouls drawn. Milan Macvan of Hemofarm Stada and Donatas Zavackas of Lietuvos Rytas each compiled a 28 index rating this week. Macvan led Hemofarm to a 84-74 overtime home win against Azovmash with 24 points and 8 rebounds. Meanwhile, Zavackas had 22 points and 8 fouls drawn in his team's road loss at Spirou Basket. Chuck Eidson also of L. Rytas and Andre Owens of Crvena Zvezda, with indexes of 26 each, completed the top individual performances in the Eurocup this week.

Individual highs: Khalid El-Amin, Azovmash Mariupol, 7 assists

Andre Owens of Crvena Zvezda was the top scorer with 25 points despite his team's 73-85 home loss against Pamesa Valencia. Ivanov led all rebounders by pulling down 16 against Telekom. El-Amin had 7 assists to lead the weekly standings. Albert Oliver of Pamesa and Miljan Pavkovic of Hemofarm each collected 4 steals this week. Serhiy Lishchuk of Azovmash had 4 blocks in his team's overtime road loss at Hemofarm. Ivanov - 23 points, 16 rebounds - and Drago Pasalic of iurbentia Bilbao Basket - 16 points, 11 rebounds - were the only players to register double-doubles this week.
