Zadar tabs Desmon Farmer
Desmon Farmer (Photo: Spartak Primorie)Heading into a tight Group J race for the Final Eight over the last three weeks of the Last 16, Zadar of Croatia has made a backcourt switch by signing swingman Desmon Farmer and de-registering point guard Malik Dixon. Farmer (196, 27) last played in European competition with two different teams during the 2004-05 season. He started that year with Aris Thessaloniki of Greece in the ULEB Cup, averaging 10.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 10 regular season games. He then switched to Prokom Trefl Sopot for the Top 16 of the Euroleague, putting up 7 points per game. Farmer most recently played for San Antonio of the NBA at the start of the current season before joining Spartak Primorie Vladivostok in Russia. He has also played for Atleticos de San German in Puerto Rico, CAI Zaragoza in Spain, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers and the Tulsa 66ers in the D-League, the Seattle Supersonics in the NBA and Oostende in Belgium. Farmer helped Prokom to win the 2005 Polish League title. Eurocup teams had only until 18:00 CET on Monday to make the last possible revisions to their rosters for the 2008-09 season.
