JR Bremer PAOK Thessaloniki strengthened its backcourt Sunday with the signing of JR Bremer. The American guard will step into the shoes of Darius Washington, who was hurt last week in a car crash and is expected to miss at least a month. Bremer (26, 1.88m) could make his ULEB Cup debut with the team already on Tuesday at home against EiffelTowers.

Bremer graduated from St. Bonaventure University in 2002, where he averaged 24.4 points per game. He spent the next two seasons in the NBA playing for the Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors, averaging 4.1 points and 2.1 assists. In the summer of 2004, Bremer came to Europe for the first time to play for Unicaja Malaga, where he averaged 12 points, 3.1 boards and 2.5 assists in 14 Euroleague games and helped the team to win the Spanish King's Cup. Last year he joined Biella in Italy, posting 7.6 points and 2.4 assists in 22 Italian-League games.
