The criteria and procedure for the 2009-2010 Regular Season Draw will follow the guidelines approved by the General Assembly.

GROUP DRAW (32 TEAMS)

The draw will be held according to seeds.

The 32 teams qualified will be divided into four seeds of eight teams each, in accordance with the final standings of Euroleague, Eurocup, and national competitions in the 2008-2009 season as follows.

Starting with the 1 Seeds, teams coming from Euroleague Basketball QR, and the top two teams according to the final Euroleague Basketball standings from the previous season.

Seeds 2 and 3 will be composed with teams which participated in the previous season of the Eurocup and according the final standings in this competition.

Lastly, we place the teams that did not participate in either Euroleague or Eurocup competition in the previous season. The order in which they are placed is based upon the ranking in Eurocup of the team from their country that did not qualify for the following season.

The 4 Seeds will be composed with the qualified teams from the Qualifying Round. One of the bowls with the name of the teams, will have the name of Qualifying Round 6, Bilbao Basket – BC Donetsk, which has not been played.

GROUP DRAW RESTRICTIONS

The restrictions when drawing the teams for the groups is the following:

Teams from the same country cannot coincide in the same Regular Season group. When drawing the 4 Seeds, QR 6, will not be placed in the urn if there is already a team of either country, Spain or Ukraine, in the group drawn.

The procedure to be applied to the Draw in Barcelona is the following:

GROUP DRAW PROCEDURE

The seeds will be drawn successively from the 1st to the 4th until all 32 teams have been selected.

For each spot drawn, the urn will be emptied and refilled with only those teams from the level drawn without restrictions. I.e. If a spot is to be drawn

where there is a team from a specific country, the teams from the country in question will not be placed in the urn. In the Regular Season, teams from the same country may not coincide in the same group. Therefore, when drawing teams from the 2, 3 and 4 Seeds, only those teams from a country different that the ones previously drawn in the same group will be placed in the urn.

If the situation requires so, a team may be placed directly in order to follow the restrictions mentioned above.

Drawing the teams as explained above will allow restrictions to be respected and will eliminate all possibilities of a blocked situation.
