With fireworks to the finish, regular season Week 4, the last before a long holiday break, generated plenty emotion across all eight Eurocup regular season groups on Tuesday. Foremost among the winners were the first four teams to qualify for the Last 16: three undefeated group leaders - Unics, behind 19 points from Marko Popovic, Bilbao, for whom Damir Markota scored 27, and Valencia, led by Serhiy Lishchuk's 18 points - as well as one second-place team, Joventut, which got 20 from Uros Tripkovic. There was also the joy of survival among first-time winners Azovmash, Hemofarm and Turow, who had their say in the Last 16 races, the latter joining Galatasaray and Cholet, which by knocking off previously undefeated teams took second victories each, the same as Zadar and Nancy. The formerly unbeaten, newly defeated teams joined the line to reach the Last 16 with Biella, Aris, Brose Baskets, Spartak and Benetton, all of whom stepped up to third victories.
