Aris releases Dixon, signs Ivan Paunic

Juan Dixon - Aris BSA 2003Aris BSA 2003 and guard Juan Dixon parted ways by mutual consent on Wednesday, and the club inked Ivan Paunic as his replacement the next day. Paunic (194, 22) arrives from BC Oostende, where he averaged 10.5 points in the Belgian League this season. Paunic has experience at the highest levels, having helped Serbia to a silver medal at EuroBasket 2009 last summer. He also won a gold medal with the Serbian Under-20 national team at the 2006 and 2007 European Championships and with the U-18 Serbian side at the 2005 European Championships. Paunic grew up in the Partizan Belgrade ranks and has since played for Mega Ishrana and KK Vojvodina Srbijagas in his native Serbia before moving to Belgium.

Dixon joined Aris shortly before the start of the Eurocup season, making his European debut with the club. He led the team in the Eurocup in scoring (14.3 points), assists (2.8 apg.) and steals (1 spg.) through four games. In a statement, Aris thanked Dixon for his contributions and wished him success going forward.
