Umana Reyer Venice bolstered its roster weeks ahead of its Eurocup debut by inking center Josh Owens to a one-year deal on Thursday. Owens (2.03 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Dolomiti Energa Trento, where he averaged 13.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in 33 Italian League games last season, helping his team reach the playoffs. He has also played for Idaho of the D-League and Hapoel Tel Aviv of Israel. Before that, he helped Stanford University lift the NIT Tournament trophy in 2012. "I talked with my family and agent, and I chose Reyer because it is the best opportunity to keep growing as a player," Owens said. "My goal is to win as many games as possible. I always start a season with the same personal expectations - to give all I have in every practice and every game. I believe that if we all have this spirit and strive to improve every day, we can only be happy at the end of the season."
