Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia strengthened its backcourt ahead of its return to the Eurocup, signing Andrea De Nicolao to handle the club’s point guard duties. De Nicolao (1.83 meters, 24 years old) arrives from Italian second division club Scaligera Verona where he averaged 10.3 points and league best 6.4 assists. De Nicolao will return to Eurocup where he played in 2013-14 season with Cimberio Varese, and averaged 3.6 points and 2.2 assists. A product of the Benetton Treviso youth system, De Nicolao debuted with the first team in 2009 as an 18-year old. He played the 2010-11 season on loan at Lago Maggiore before returning to Benetton. He moved to Varese in 2012. De Nicolao has played for the Italian national team at both the junior and senior levels. He was a member of the squad that won the silver medal at the 2011 European Under-20 Championships.
