Eurocup Last 16 Week 5 MVP: Casey Jacobsen, Brose Baskets
Casey Jacobsen - Brose Baskets ( photo brosebaskets.de, Daniel Löb)An outstanding performance leading to a bittersweet victory earned Casey Jacobsen of Brose Baskets Bamberg the MVP honor for Last 16, Week 5. Jacobsen recorded a performance index rating of 31 during his team's 84-81 home win over Panellinios BC, but Brose nonetheless was eliminated because it needed to win by at least 8 points to keep its Quarterfinals chances alive. Jacobsen was everywhere against Panellinios, scoring 25 points on 6-of-8 three-point shooting to go with 6 rebounds, 2 assists, a steal and 5 fouls drawn for his 31 index rating. The best individual performance of the week actually belonged to Darius Washington of Galatasaray Cafe Crown, but since his team lost, Washington was not eligible because the weekly MVP title goes to the best performer from a winning team. Washington had 32 points on 9-of-12 two-point shooting and 3 of 3 from downtown. He added 5 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals and 6 fouls drawn to amass an index rating of 40 as Galatasaray fell 92-89 on the road at Unics Kazan. In third place came Maciej Lampe of Unics, who shined against Galatasaray with 19 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 fouls drawn, good for a 27 index rating. James Augustine of Gran Canaria 2014 - with 25 - and Marko Popovic of Unics - with 24 - completed the top individual performances of Last 16 Week 5.

Individual highs: Dijon Thompson of Hapoel Jerusalem, 5 steals

Washington was this week's top scorer with 32 points against Unics and he also leads the Last 16 scorers' list at 25 points per game. Augustine pulled down 12 rebounds against Turk Telekom and is ranked fifth in the Top 16 with 6.8 rebounds per game. Lampe tops that chart with 9.2 per night. Washington and Soner Senturk of Turk Telekom each dished 7 assists this week, more than any other players. Washington is now sixth among Top 16 players with 4.3 assists per game. Yuval Naimy of Hapoel is first with 5.4 assists per game. His teammate Dijon Thompson collected 5 steals to lead the weekly list and is also first in the Top 16 with 2.8 per game. Kris Lang of Turk Telekom had 4 blocks in his team's home loss against Gran Canaria, climbing to third in the Top 16 with 1.4 per game. Serhiy Lishchuk of Power Electronics Valencia is the Last 16's leading shot-blocker with 1.8 per game. Lampe (19 points, 10 rebounds), Augustine (14 points, 12 rebounds)- and Huseyin Besok of Turk Telekom (15 points, 10 rebounds) registered the weeks only three double-doubles.
