Tre Simmons - Hapoel Jerusalem (Photo hapoel.co.il)Besides sealing its ticket to the Quarterfinals on Tuesday night, Hapoel Jerusalem also set a new Eurocup record for points in one quarter with 44. Hapoel broke the previous record of 40 set by Dynamo back in 2008 in a regular season game against Panellinios. Hapoel's record is all the more remarkable for having come in a Last 16 decisive and doing all the scoring when it was needed most - in the fourth quarter, after trailing 74-67 after 30 minutes. Hapoel defeated Galatasaray Cafe Crown 98-111. Yuval Naimy led Hapoel with 27 points, while Tre Simmons had 25 and Dijon Thompson 20. Another Israeli club, Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv, broke the all-time Euroleague single-quarter scoring record. Maccabi had 43 points in the fourth quarter of a key Top 16 game against Montepaschi Siena.
