Quarterfinal analysis: Alba Berlin vs. Hapoel Jerusalem
Two domestic powerhouses from capital cities with eyes on a second continental title will square off in the quarterfinals when Alba Berlin of Germany and Hapoel Jerusalem of Israel meet. Berlin lifted the Korac Cup in 1995, while Jerusalem claimed the ULEB Cup in 2004 and both have been looking to sample the sweet taste of European success since. Hapoel makes its third trip to the quarterfinals since its title. Its last time in the quarters came in 2007, when it swept Berlin in the regular season. No Jerusalem players from those game are still with the team, however one of them, Jurica Golemac, now plays for Berlin, which still has Julius Jenkins and Philip Zwiener as well. The series figures to be a contract in styles as Hapoel was the second-highest scoring team in the Last 16 at 84.5 points per game, while Alba allowed the third fewest points in the Last 16 (68.2 ppg.).

JURICA GOLEMAC
Now in his third Eurocup campaign, Alba Berlin big man Jurica Golemac is seeking his first trip to the semifinals. To do so, he must lead his team past the first team with whom he reached the competitions quarterfinals, Hapoel Jerusalem. Golemac spent the 2006-07 season in Jerusalem, and though the entire roster has changed since then, the veteran will still be familiar with the fans and the atmosphere in the Israeli capital.

TRE SIMMONS
When building a new-look roster for Hapoel Jerusalem's return to the Eurocup, Tre Simmons was one of the first players head coach Guy Goodes sought out - and with good reason. A gifted scorer who can knock down jumpers or get to the basket, Simmons all-around game fit perfectly with the team concept at Hapoel, which now faces Alba Berlin with a Eurocup Finals spot hanging in the balance.
