ratiopharm Ulm strengthened its backcourt for the upcoming season and completed its roster by inking point guard DeAndre Kane to a one-year deal on Thursday. Ulm keeps an option to extend his contract for another season. Kane (1.93 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Port of Antwerp Giants, where he averaged 12.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 25 Belgian League games last season. He started the 2014-15 season with Krasny Oktyabr Volgograd, averaging 7.3 points and 3 assists in 3 Eurocup games and joining Antwerp in November. Oktyabr was the first stop inhis professional basketball career, as Kane played for Iowa State University in the 2013-14 season. "DeAndre is very unselfish and distributes the ball well. He can take care of mismatches due to his athleticism and can help our big men to rebound," Ulm head coach Thorsten Leibenath said. "We want to play the way it went well for us in the last few years - team basketball, fast, with great commitment and a lot of energy."
