AEK Athens added another prospect with potential by signing rookie guard Philip Scrubb to a two-year contract. Scrubb (1.90 meters, 23 years old) is Canadian and has a British passport too. He’s spent the previous five years at Carleton University in Ottawa, Ontario, where he teamed with his brother Thomas to lead Carleton to five consecutive Canadian Interuniversity Sport national titles. Scrubb was named CIS Final 8 MVP for the second time in his career after tallying 28 points and 10 assists in the championship game. He also became the first three-time CIS Player of the Year. Scrubb averaged 18.6 points on 47.0% three-point shooting plus 4.9 assists in 22 games last season. He will make his professional debut with AEK.
