Trento brings back center Lechthaler
Dolomiti Energia Trento added size and experience to its roster by inking center Luca Lechthaler to a one-year deal on Thursday. Lechthaler (2.06 meters, 29 years old) arrives from Sidigas Avellino, where he averaged 1.1 points and 1.8 rebounds in 25 Italian League games last season. He already played for Trento in the 2013-14 season, averaging 3.5 points and 4.3 rebounds in 41 Italian second division games, helping his team win that title and promote to the Italian elite. Lechthaler has also played for Montepaschi Siena, Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari, Premiata Montegranaro and Naturhouse Ferrara of his native Italy. He helped Montepaschi win four Italian League titles in 2004, 2007, 2009 and 2012, also lifting the Italian Cup trophy in 2009 and 2012. Lechthaler has also been a member of the Italian national team. "I am back in Trento after having a great season two years ago, which ended with the promotion to the Italian League," Lechthaler said. "I am excited to be part of this ambitious project and be able to contribute, with great desire to achieve the many goals we will have this season."
