Eurocup Quarterfinals, Game 1 tri-MVPs: Alen Omic, Mardy Collins, Deon Thompson

The last eight teams standing are done with the first game of the Quarterfinals. Game 2 promises big thrills to see what the four semifinalists are. In the meantime, as many as three players emerged as co-MVPs of the week thanks to respective index rating performances of 27, the highest among winning players: Alen Omic of Herbalife Gran Canaria Las Palmas, Deon Thompson of FC Bayern Munich and Mardy Collins of Strasbourg. Omic scored 20 points, pulled 8 boards, dished a career-high 4 assists and drew 5 fouls. Thompson led his team to the win with also 20 points, 9 boards and 4 drawn fouls. Finally, Collins led Strasbourg to the win with 24 points (8 of 9 twos), 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal.

Individual highs: Dee Bost and Kevin Pangos, 8 assists each

Collins also happened to be the top scorer of the week with his 24 points, and Vladimir Micov of Galatasaray Odeabank Istanbul followed siut with his 22. Only one player reached the 10-rebound mark this week, Julian Wright of Dolomiti Energia Trento. Two players stood at the top of the weekly best passers list with 8 apiece, Dee Bost of Stelmet Zielona Gora and Kevin Pangos of Gran Canaria. On the defensive end there was not any impressive marks in the steals department, as a flurry of players had 2 of them. Stephane Lasme of Galatasaray was the best player in the paint stopping shots this week with his 3 blocks.
