Zenit keeps big man Pushkov, too
Zenit St. Petersburg reached a new agreement with center Anton Pushkov to keep working together until the end of the 2017-18 season, the club announced this weekend. Pushkov (2.08 meters, 27 years old) averaged 5.6 points on 82.5% free throw shooting and 4 rebounds in 17 Eurocup games this season. He was the fifth-best per-minute rebounder in the competition (11.81 rpg. per 40 minutes), ranking 10th in per-minute blocks, too. Pushkov helped Zenit reach the VTB League semifinals and the Eurocup eighthfinals in his first season with the team. He had joined Zenit from Krasnye Krilya Samara, where he averaged 5.8 points and 2.5 rebounds in 15 VTB League games in the 2014-15 season. He has also played for Volzhanin-GES Volzhski and Khimki Moscow Region of his native Russia. He helped Khimki lift the Eurocup trophy in 2012, averaging 3.4 points and 1.6 rebounds in 7 games. Pushkov also won the EuroChallenge title with Samara in 2013.
