Asefa Estudiantes keeps German Gabriel
German Gabriel - UnicajaAsefa Estudiantes reached an agreement with power forward German Gabriel to extend his contract until the end of the 2011-12 season. Gabriel (207, 29) averaged 9.8 points and 4.8 rebounds in 32 Spanish League games last season, helping Estudiantes make it to the Spanish League playoffs. He has also played for Unicaja, Akasvayu Girona and Bilbao Basket in Spain during huis career. Gabriel has been a member of the Spanish under-16, U-18 and U-20 national teams. He helped Spain win the gold medal at the FIBA U-18 Championships in 1999. Gabriel also lifted the FIBA EuroCup trophy with Girona in 2007. He is set to keep offering his shooting range and post moves in what will be his Eurocup return, as he played the competition's original season with Estudiantes in 2002-03, reaching the semifinals.
