Dynamo Moscow lands Gubanov from Khimki
Dynamo Moscow signed forward Petr Gubanov on Friday for the coming season, bringing the player over from BC Khimki Moscow Region, where he made his Euroleague debut last season. Gubanov (207, 23) appeared in 11 Euroleague games with Khimi, averaging 1.4 points and 1 rebound sin six minutes per contest. He began his career with CSK VVS Samara, and has also played for Lobnya Moscow Region and Universitet Yugra Surgut during his professional career. Additionally, Gubanov has represented the Russian national team at the under-18 and U-20 levels.
"I know [head coach] Sergei Bazarevich very well," Gubanov said. "He coached me in Samara. I know well my new teammates [Aleksey] Zhukanenko and [Ilya] Syrovatko. Dynamo came to me with a proposal last season, but I had a contract with Khimki. Now, I gladly accepted the invitation. I am sure we will have an ambitious team."
