Dejan BorovnjakAris BSA 2003 keeps improving its roster for the upcoming Eurocup Qualifying Round by inking big man Dejan Borovnjak to a one-year deal. Borovnjak (208, 24) arrives from Panionios, where he averaged 6.3 points and 2.5 rebounds in 6 Greek League games last season. He had started the 2009-10 season with Lietuvos Rytas, averaging 5.1 points and 3.5 rebounds in 10 Euroleague games before joining before joining Panionios. He started his short, promising career with Partizan, helping the team to win back-to-back Serbia and Montenegro League titles in 2005 and 2006 before lifting consecutive Serbian League and Adriatic League titles in 2007 and 2008. Borovnjak also won the Serbian Radivoj Korac Cup with Partizan in 2008. Borovnjak boasts five years of Euroleague experience, having debuted at 18 years old in January of 2005 with what turned out to be his top performance in 43 games over the next four years in the competition. In a victory over Estudiantes of Spain that night, Borovnjak had 8 points and 3 steals in 10 minutes off the bench. He averaged 17 minutes in six Euroleague appearances that season, but no more than 5 minutes in any season after that before leaving Partizan to join Vojvodina in summer 2009. Borovnjak had a breakout year in Novi Sad, which allowed him to return to the Euroleague with L. Rytas last season.
