Lukoil Academic adds Avramov
Bozhidar Avramov - Bulgaria (Photo: FIBA Europe)Bulgarian powerhouse Lukoil Academic continued a busy week of roster preparation on Wednesday by signing combo-guard Bozhidar Avramov to a two-year deal. Avramov (194, 20) arrives from Greek side Olympia Larissa, which he joined midway through last season and averaged 4.1 points in 12 games. He returns to his native Bulgaria after several seasons abroad, mainly in Spain. Avramov grew up with Cherno More Varna, but signed a multi-year deal with Valencia in Spain when he was just 17 and made his European debut on opening night of the ULEB Cup season. He also spent time on loan at Gandia Basquet during his time at Valencia. Despite his age, Avramov represented Bulgaria at EuroBasket 2009 and played an important role in helping Bulgaria reach the semifinals of the Under-20 European Championships earlier this summer in Austria.
