EWE BASKETS inks playmaker Protic
Nemanja Protic - BC FMPEWE Baskets Oldenburg signed playmaker Nemanja Protic, the club announced Thursday. The deal is for one season with an option for a second, however it is not guaranteed until the player has spent 10 days with the team. By signing with Oldenburg, Protic (186, 24) moves abroad for the first time in his career. He grew up with Serbian sie Borac Cacak and spent the past four seasons with FMP. Last year he averaged 11.8 points and 2.1 assists per game for FMP in the Adriatic League and 12.2 points and 2.3 assists in the FIBA EuroChallenge. Protic has extensive Eurocup experience, having played in 23 games over three campaigns with FMP.

"Nemanja is a young player, but on the other hand, he already has much experience with the games in Serbia, in the Adriatic League and in European competitions. He is fast, defends very well and can control the game. This corresponds with the wishes we had for this position," head coach Predrag Krunic said. "Now we have to work to focus him and the team. We must not forget: it is after four years with FMP his first season at a new club and also his first season outside of his home."
