ALBA Berlin added experience to its backcourt by inking playmaker Engin Atsur to a one-year deal on Thursday. Atsur (1.93 meters, 31 years old) arrives from Besiktas Istanbul, where he averaged 6.9 points and 2.2 assists in 9 7DAYS EuroCup games last season. Atsur played for Efes Pilsen and Pertevniyal at a junior age before joining North Carolina State University from 2003 to 2007. He has also played for Benetton Treviso of Italy, as well as for Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul and Galatasaray Medical Park Istanbul. Atsur helped Fenerbahce win the Turkish double - league and cup titles - in 2009. He has also been a member of the Turkish national team. "I am very happy to be playing for one of the best organizations in European basketball and I am proud that ALBA has signed me," Atsur said. "I cannot wait to be on the court and play in front of our ALBA fans. My mother is German and many of my relatives live in Germany, there is also a special, new beginning for me in Berlin, for which I am very pleased."
