Aris BSA tabs Tucker at forward
P.J. Tucker (Photo: FibaEurope.com)Aris BSA 2003 and forward P.J. Tucker put pen to paper on a two-year deal Thursday, 24 hours after the club publicly announced the agreement between them. Tucker (198, 25) arrives from Israeli club Bnei Hasharon, where he averaged 17.3 points and 9 rebounds over 12 games after joining the club midway through the season. Tucker started the year in Ukraine with BC Donetsk, with whom he posted 11.9 points and 4.8 rebounds in domestic action and 23.4 points and 6.6 boards in the FIBA EuroChallenge. He enjoyed an outstanding college basketball career at the University of Texas, where he finished his junior season as the Big 12 Conference Player of the Year and a Second Team All-American selection. After splitting his rookie season between Toronto in the NBA and Colorado in the NBDL, Tucker came to Israel and led Hapoel Holon to its first Israeli League championship and was named Israeli League MVP. For the 2008-09 season, Tucker joined Donetsk and shined with 19.4 points and 5.9 rebounds in the Ukrainian League.
