Lietuvos Rytas Vilnius reached a new agreement with center Adam Lapeta to keep working together until the end of the 2017-18 season, the club announced Wednesday. Lapeta (2.17 meters, 28 years old) joined Rytas in January, averaging 4.8 points and 3.7 rebounds in 24 Lithuanian League games last season, in which he helped his team lift the Lithuanian Cup trophy. He started the 2015-16 season with another Lithuanian team, Dzukija Alytus, averaging 9.7 points, 7.9 rebounds and a block in 16 games before joining his current club. Lapeta started his career with Prokom Trefl Sopot, where he played until 2011. After joining Prokom's first team at the start of the 2007-08 season, Lapeta helped his team win five consecutive Polish League titles from 2008 to 2012, as well as making it to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague playoffs in 2010. He has also been a member of the Polish national team.
