Gran Canaria picks up former EuroCup Final MVP Hendrix
Herbalife Gran Canaria Las Palmas signed veteran big man Richard Hendrix to anchor the frontline. Hendrix (2.03 meters, 29 years old) split last season between Unicaja Malaga and Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv. With the former he averaged 9 points, 6.2 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 16 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games. Then he posted 8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in nine Israeli League contests. Hendrix returns to the EuroCup, which he won in 2013 with Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar after posting 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting and 9 rebounds in the championship game against Uxue Bilbao Basket to earn EuroCup Final MVP honors. He has also played for Granada in Spain and EA7 Emporio Armani Milan in Italy. Hendrix helped Maccabi reach the 2011 EuroLeague Championship Game and win back-to-back Israeli League and Cup doubles in 2011 and 2012 and the Adriatic League crown in 2012.
