Week 3 MVP: Demetrius Alexander, BC Azovmash
In one of the closest races to win the award this season, Demetrius Alexander of BC Azovmash became the Eurocup regular season Week 3 MVP by getting a 36 index. Azovmash was intrumental to lead Azovmash to a critical 86-95 road win against Hapoel Gilboa/Galil with 31 points on 7-of-8 two-pointers, 5-of-7 three-pointers and 2-of-2 free throws. He added 6 rebounds, 4 assists, a steal and 3 fouls drawn for a 36 index. Mindaugas Lukauskis of EWE Baskets Oldenburg and Uche Nsonwu of Chorale Roanne also shined this week and each amassed a 35 index. Nsonwu, however, was not eligible to earn MVP honors because Roanne lost its game against PAOK BC. He had 22 points on 10-of-13 two-pointers, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 7 fouls drawn for a 36 index in a losing effort. Lukauskis led Oldenburg to a big home win against Banvit BK with 26 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals and 4 fouls drawn, good for a 35 index. CJ Wallace of Gran Canaria 2014 (index 33) and Zach Morley of Budivelnik (31) complete the top individual performances this week.
Individual highs: Gal Mekel of Gilboa/Galil, 11 assists
Alexander was also this week's top scorer with 31 points against Gilboa/Galil. Robby Bostain is now the Eurocup best scorer, as he had 22 points in his first game against Bennet Cantu this week. Dwayne Anderson of BG Goettingen led all rebounder by pulling down 13 boards in his team's home win against Hemofarm Stada. Lazaros Papadopoulos of PAOK BC stays as the competition's best rebounder at 13.7 per night. Mekel dished 11 assists in his team's home loss against Azovmash. J.R. Bremer of Krasnye Krylia, who had 10 assists against Anwil this week, is first overall at 8.3 per game. Tutku Acik of Galatasaray Cafe Crown and Pavel Pumprla of CEZ Nymburk each collected 5 steals in their teams' respective home wins against Panellinios BC and Hapoel Jerusalem. Kyle Bailey of BG Goettingen averages 4 steals to lead the overall standings. Warren Carter of Gilboa/Galil had 4 blocks against Azovmash. Kaspars Berzins is the Eurocup's best shot blocker at 2.67 per game. As many as 10 players registered respective double-doubles, but three of them were in the same team. Gerald Green - 21 points, 10 rebounds -, Bremer - 15 points, 10 assists - and Primoz Brezec - 20 points, 11 rebounds - helped Krylia to down Anwil at home, registering its first-ever Eurocup win.
