Ulm adds veteran swingman Thompson

ratiopharm Ulm signed swingman Ryan Thompson to a two-year deal on Monday. Thompson (1.98 meters, 29 years old) arrives from fellow German side Telekom Baskets Bonn, where he averaged 13.7 points, 2.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists last season. Thompson played with Utah of the NBDL before moving to Europe in 2011. He played for Brescia of Italy and Aalstar of Belgium before making his EuroCup debut with Telenet Ostend in 2013. Thompson won the Belgian League title with Ostend that same season. He got another season of EuroCup experience under his belt playing for German powerhouse Brose Bamberg in 2014-15, before joining Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade of Serbia, where he made his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut in the 2015-16 season. He finished that campaign with another EuroCup team, Trabzonspor Medical Park of Turkey. Now, after a season away, Thompson is ready to return to the EuroCup, where he has career averages of 10.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists over 38 games.
