ASVEL Lyon Villeurbanne announced the signing of small forward David Lighty to a two-year deal on Wednesday. Lighty (1.98 meters, 29 years) arrives from Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari, where he averaged 7.2 points and 2.9 rebounds in 11 Italian League games last season. He started the 2016-17 season with another Italian team, Dolomiti Energia Trento, where he posted 13.1 points in 15 games before joining Sassari in February. Lighty previously played for ASVEL and helped it win the French League title in 2016. He started his professional career with Pallacanestro Cantu and played for another Italian team, Vanoli Braga Cremona, and for JSF Nanterre of France before his first stint with ASVEL. He helped Nanterre win the French League in 2013 and the French Cup in 2014. He played two EuroCup seasons with Nanterre and ASVEL and averaged 9.3 points and 3.1 assists in a total of 18 games.
