Galatasaray puts Christmas in the frontcourt
Galatasaray Odeabank Istanbul continued adding size to its frontcourt by announcing on Thursday that big man Rakeem Christmas has signed a contract for the next 7DAYS EuroCup season. Christmas (2.06 meters, 25 years old) arrives from Indiana of the NBA, where he averaged 2 points and 1.9 rebounds in 7.6 minutes over 29 games last season. Prior to Indiana, Christmas spent much of his first pro season with Fort Wayne of the NBA G League. That followed his four years at Syracuse University, in the last of which he averaged 17.5 points, 9.1 rebounds and 2.5 blocks. With both size and athleticism, Christmas can play either power forward or center, giving new Galatasaray head coach Erman Kunter more options in the frontcourt.
