Reggio Emilia inks former All-EuroCup forward Wright
Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia added a familiar face to its frontcourt weeks ahead of the new 7DAYS EuroCup campaign by inking power forward Julian Wright to a one-year deal. Wright (2.03 meters, 30 years old) joined Reggio Emilia for the Italian League playoffs last season, and in three games posted 10.7 points, 6 rebounds and 3.7 assists. He spent a major part of last season with Trabzonspor in Turkey, where he posted 13.2 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3 assists and 1.5 steals. Wright now returns to EuroCup, where he played only one season, but a memorable 2015-16 campaign when he helped Dolomiti Energia Trento reach EuroCup semifinals by averaging 14.6 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.1 blocks per game. It also got Wright selected to the All-EuroCup Second Team that season. Veteran power forward has spent five seasons in the NBA, four with New Orleans and one with Toronto. He also played with Austin in D-League, Maccabi Rishon and Bnei Hertzeliyya in Israel, Krasnie Krilya Samara in Russia, Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens in Greece and Cangrejeros de Santurce in Puerto Rico.
