Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem announced on Friday morning the addition of triple Turkish Airlines EuroLeague champ, Stratos Perperoglou, to the team for the upcoming season. Perperoglou (2.03 meters, 33 years old) arrives from FC Barcelona Lassa, where he played the last two seasons. Last year he averaged 6.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 22 EuroLeague games with Barcelona. Prior to that stint, Perperoglou played in Anadolu Efes Istanbul one season, but he spent most of his career in Greece. He signed with Panathinaikos Athens in 2007 and played there for five seasons, winning the EuroLeague title in 2009 and 2011. After that, he switched to archrival Olympiacos Piraeus, where he played for two years, also winning another EuroLeague title in 2013.
"We are very excited to sign Stratos Perperoglou." coach Fotis Katsikaris said. "He is a three-time EuroLeague winner who could add quality, experience and depth. His addition will be added to the team's chemistry and this guy knows what is needed to win."
This will not be Perperoglou's debut in the 7DAYS EuroCup, as he already made an appearance in 2005-06 with Greek team Panionios.
