Gran Canaria loses Eriksson for quarterfinals

Herbalife Gran Canaria's top scorer this season, Marcus Eriksson, will miss the 7DAYS EuroCup Quarterfinals after he suffered a wrist injury playing with the Swedish national team over the weekend. Eriksson (2.01 meters, 24 years old) has averaged 15.4 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game in 14 appearances this season with Gran Canaria, and he was the main contributor on offense for the team from the Canary Islands. Eriksson suffered the injury while playing against Turkey and will be sidelined for approximately three weeks, according to the club's medical services. Eriksson's absence could well be a big blow as Gran Canaria challenges unbeaten Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar in a best-of-three series starting next Wednesday. Eriksson ranks second in the EuroCup in both three-pointers made per game (3.2) and accuracy from the arc (54.9%).
