Crvena Zvezda puts Ragland at point guard

Crvena Zvezda mts Belgrade brought experienced know-how to its backcourt on Friday by signing point guard Joe Ragland for the upcoming 7DAYS EuroCup season. Ragland (1.81 meters, 28 years old) helped Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar reach the EuroCup Finals last season as that team's second-best scorer (11.7 ppg.) and assist maker (3.7 apg.). He was Lokomotiv's top scorer in the finals, with14 points per game against eventual champion Darussafaka Istanbul. Ragland played one other EuroCup season, in 2013-14 with Cantu of Italy, and put up 14.7 points per game then, giving him a career average of 13.1 points in the competition. In between those two seasons, he played in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague for AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan and Pinar Karsiyaka Izmir, averaging 8.3 points and 3.0 assists over 31 total games. He also played for Murcia of Spain and Avellino of Italy in his six-year pro career to date.
