Valencia Basket: Markovic, Ogilvy out mid-term
Markovic and Ogilvy remain sidelined (Photo: Juan Carlos Garcia Mate, Solobasket.com)Valencia Basket keeps facing severe injury problems, as playmaker Stefan Markovic and center AJ Ogilvy will remain sidelined longer than expected, the club announced Friday. Markovic has synovitis in his left ankle and will be out for 4-6 weeks. Ogilvy has a problem in the Achillean zone of his right leg and will be out for at least 3 weeks. As such, both players are doubtful for Valencia's Top 16 opener against BCM Gravelines - and Markovic may miss more games. Markovic, the Eurocup's all-time assists leader, has averaged 7.3 points and 4.5 assists in 4 games. Ogilvy has taken part in 3 games off the bench, averaging 9.7 points. There are some good news for Valencia, as forwards Florent Pietrus and Vitor Faverani are set to return to practice next Monday. Victor Claver, the 2009-10 Eurocup Rising Star, is expected to back in early 2012.
