Krka adds Lalic, Lucic and Hansbrough
Jure Lalic signs for KrkaKrka Novo Mesto will have a fresh look for the Last 16 after signing Jure Lalic, Ben Hansbrough and Uros Lucic. The team has also released three players: Marko Djurkovic, Mustafa Abdul Hamid and Jimmy Baxter. Lalic (2.10 meters, 25 years old) arrives from Cibona, where he averaged 7.5 points in four Eurocup games this season. He returns to Slovenia after finishing the 2009-10 season there with Union Olimpija. Lalic has also played for Zadar and Amfora Makarska in his native Croatia and Spirou Charleroi in Belgium. He helped Charleroi to win the Belgian League in 2009 and lifted the Croatian League trophy with Zadar in 2005 and 2008.

Lucic (2.07 meter, 28 years old) returns to the club after helping Novo Mesto win the 2010 Slovenian League title. He averaged 9.4 points and 4 rebounds per game that season. The well-traveled big man has also played for Lasko in Slovenia as well as Radnicki and OKK Beograd in his native Serbia and for BC Steaua Bucharest in Romania. Hansbrough (1.90 meters, 24 years old) arrives from German side FC Bayern Munich, for whom he averaged 8 points in three Eurocup games this season and 5.5 points and 2.7 assists in 10 German League games. This is Hansbrough’s first season as a professional after a successful college basketball career at the University of Notre Dame, where he was named the Big East Conference Player of the Year last season. He finished that season with 18.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game.
