KRKA nabs Nissim at guard
Krka Novo Mesto finalized its roster for the Eurocup Last 16 by signing veteran guard Afik Nissim for the remainder of the season. Nissim (1.80 meters, 30 years old) arrives from Russian side Enisey, for whom he averaged 7 points and 4.5 assists in the FIBA EuroChallenge and 7.1 points and 2.9 assists in the Russian League this season. The well-traveled guard has previous Eurocup experience playing two seasons with Strasbourg in France and last season with CEZ Nymburk of the Czech Republic and he averaged double figures in points for each of them. Last season he totaled 12.6 points and 2.4 assists in 11 Eurocup games. After starting his career with Maccabi Rishon in his native Israel and playing one season for Hapoel Haifa/Ramat Hasharon, Nissim has since suited up for Prima Veroli in Italy, BC Kyiv in Ukraine and Lokomotiv Rostov in Russia. He has also been a member of the Israeli national team, helped Strasbourg to win the French League title in 2005, the Czech League and Cup double with Nymburk last season and reached the Ukrainian League and the Ukrainian Cup finals with Kyiv in 2006.
