OLIMPIJA: adds Bavcic, Djordjevic
Edin BavcicUnion Olimpija has made its first move towards completing its roster for the upcoming 2009-10 season by inking playmaker Dusan Djordjevic and center Edin Bavcic, who signed respective two-year contracts with the Slovenian powerhouse, the club announced Wednesday. Djordjevic (195, 26) arrives from Bosna ASA BH Telecom, where he averaged 8.6 points on 46.7% three-pointers and 4.5 assists in 26 Adriatic League games this season, winning the Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup. He has also played for Vojvodina Srbija Gas, Beovuk and Radnicki in Serbia, Iraklis in Greece, as well as for Spartak St.Petersburg and Lokomotiv Rostov in Russia. Djordjevic has also been a member of the under-17, under-18 and under-20 Yugoslavian national team. Meanwhile, Bavcic (210, 25) arrives from the Koeln 99ers, averaging 11.5 points and 4.2 rebounds in 19 German League games this season. He has also played for Kepez Bld Antalya in Turkey, as well as for Ilidza and Bosna in his native Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bavcic averaged 9.2 points and 4.3 rebounds in 12 ULEB Cup games in the 2007-08 season, taking part in a five-overtime instant classic against Alba Berlin.
