AJ MILANO lands big man Marius Petravicius
Armani Jeans Milano completed a major off-season move by inking reigning Eurocup Final Eight MVP Marius Petravicius to a two-year deal. Petravicius (208, 29) arrives from Eurocup champion Lietuvos Rytas, where he averaged 12.9 points on 62.9% two-point shooting and 6.1 rebounds last season. He shined with 20 points on 8-for-9 two-point shooting in the Eurocup final against Khimki, which secured his individual honors as well as the team trophy. Petravicius also helped L. Rytas to win the Lithuanian League, Lithuanian Cup, Baltic League and Baltic Presidents' Cup titles last season. In his three seasons with L. Rytas, Petravicius also won the Baltic League title in 2007 and advanced to the ULEB Cup final that year. This will be his second stint in the Euroleague after posting 13.5 points on 72.2% shooting and grabbing 5.6 rebounds in 25 minutes for L. Rytas in the 2007-08 campaign. Petravicius has also played for Ventspils in Latvia, Oostende in Belgium and Mitteldeutscher in Germany. He helped Mitteldeutscher win the 2004 FIBA Europe Cup title - earning final game MVP honors - and lifted the Latvian League trophy with Ventspils in 2006. Petravicius is a member of the Lithuanian national team and played at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
