REAL MADRID reels in Travis Hansen
Travis Hansen Real Madrid added an important piece to its perimeter attack with the signing of veteran swingman Travis Hansen, who arrives from Dynamo Moscow. The sides signed a one-year deal with a team option for the 2010-11 season. Hansen (198, 31) is the second player from Dynamo to join Madrid this season, joining former teammate Darjus Lavrinovic. Hansen was among the top players in the Eurocup last season, averaging 16.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game in helping Dynamo reach the Final Eight for the second season in a row. He was later named to the 2008-09 All-Eurocup Second Team for his efforts. After three seasons in Moscow, Hansen returns to Spain where he began his European career with Tau Ceramica, helping that team advance to back-to-back Euroleague Final Fours in 2005 and 2006. He also won the 2006 Spanish King’s Cup with Tau. Before that he played one season in the NBA with Atlanta.
