PROKOM, Pape Sow together again
Pape Sow returns to ProkomPolish champion Asseco Prokom announced Friday former player Pape Sow will return to the club for the coming season. The big man arrives from Armani Jeans Milano, for whom he averaged 8.3 points and 4.9 rebounds in 12 Euroleague games – including an 18-point outing against Prokom. Sow (208, 27) first joined Prokom in January 2008 and made two Euroleague appearances, averaging 13 points and 8 rebounds. He became a pillar for the team inside in the Polish League, leading the club to the 2008 crown. A native of Senegal, Sow played college basketball in the United States at Cal State-Fullerton. He then played in the NBA with Toronto, appearing in 76 games – including 29 starts – over three seasons. He began the 2007-08 season in Italy with Sebastiani Rieti, taking part in 19 games during which he averaged 13.5 points and 9.4 rebounds before moving to Prokom. Sow spent the summer representing Senegal at AfroBasket 2009 in Libya, where he averaged 6.7 points and 6.9 rebounds over 21 minutes in nine games, helping his team reach the quarterfinals.
