Rafa Martinez, Power Electronics Valencia celebrate Final passage!Eurocup champion Power Electronics Valencia announced on Monday a contract extension with shooting guard Rafa Martinez, who inked a new deal until the end of the 2013-14 season. Martinez (190, 27) comes off a career-best season in which he averaged 10.9 points on 94.2% free-throw accuracy and 1.5 assists in 15 Eurocup games. He helped Valencia win the Eurocup title and was his team's go-to guy in crunch time throughout the season. Martinez also helped Valencia to make it to the 2009 Eurocup Final Eight and is set to make his Spanish national team debut this summer. Martinez arrived to Valencia from Ricoh Manresa, where he averaged 14.9 points on 43% three-pointers in 34 Spanish League games in 2007-08. Martinez had started playing for Manresa in the 1999-00 season. He also joined Valls-Felix Hotel in the Spanish third division when Manresa sent him there on loan to find extended playing time. He helped Manresa win the Spanish second division in 2007 and has also been a member of the Spanish under-18 and under-20 national teams.
