POWER ELECTRONICS tabs Winston, Fernandez
Reigning Eurocup champs Power Electronics Valencia announced on Friday the addition of two new players to complete the 2010-11 season roster. The new arrivals are shooting guard Kennedy Winston (198, 26) and young forward Marc Fernandez (203, 23). Winston arrives from Lottomatica Roma of Italy where last season he averaged 14.3 points and 3.2 rebounds in 10 Euroleague games. He played college ball in Alabama until 2005 and he made his pro debut in Spain with Gran Canara during the 2005-06 season. The following year he moved to Greece where he played with Panionios until he landed a deal with Panathinaikos. He made his Euroleague debut in 2007-08 with the Greens averaging 5.0 points and 2.3 rebounds. In summer of 2008 he moved to Turkey to play with Turk Telekom as he also played in the Eurocup. Last season he was back in the Euroleague with Lottomatica and this year he will try to help the recent Eurocup champs in their Euroleague comeback.
The other addition for Power Electronics is Marc Fernandez, a young forward who arrives from ViveMenorca of Spain. Last season he averaged 8.5 points and 2.5 rebounds in 47 games of the second division, helping the team win the promotion to the ACB one more year. He grew up with the inferior categories of FC Barcelona and made his debut in Cornella BC in 2005. Fernandez is also a member of the Spanish U20 national team.
