Pargo (188, 24) was a major reason Galil bested Maccabi in the Israeli League title game last season. The sides agreed on a one-year deal. Pargo takes the place of rookie guard Mikhail Torrance, who signed for Maccabi last month, but collapsed while training in the United States last week and was hospitalized. Pargo is the younger brother of guard Jannero Pargo, who played under Maccabi head coach David Blatt during the 2008-09 season at Dynamo Moscow and later reached the Euroleague Final Four with Olympiacos. The younger Pargo made his professional debut with Galil last season after playing college basketball at Gonzaga University, where he was the West Coast Conference player of the year in 2008. With Galil he averaged 15 points and 4.5 assists per game, including 15 points and 7 rebounds in the title as Galil shocked Maccabi and won the title.

"We're very happy to add Jeremy to the roster of Maccabi Electra," Blatt said. "He's a very talented guard, a true winner and a young player that is getting better and better every day. He'll give us a lot of creativity in the backcourt, good defense and mostly great ability in the open court. We're glad that he decided to give up on the NBA option and join us right now."
