CAJA LABORAL tabs Marcus Haislip
Caja Laboral improved its frontcourt for the upcoming Turkish Airlines Euroleague season by inking power forward Marcus Haislip to a one-year deal, the club announced Friday. Haislip (208, 29) arrives from Panathinaikos, where he averaged 6 points and 3.2 rebounds in 6 Euroleague games last season. He helped the Greens to reach the Greek Cup final but left before Panathinaikos won yet another Greek League title. Haislip, an accomplished athlete, has also played for Unicaja in Spain, Efes Pilsen and Ulker in Turkey, as well as for Milwaukee in the NBA. He helped Efes to win the Turkish Cup and the Turkish President's Cup in 2007. He also helped Unicaja to reach the Spanish King's Cup final in 2009, losing in overtime against his new team, then called Tau Ceramica. His best individual campaign came in 2006-07, when Haislip was worth 14.1 points, 6.7 rebounds and a league-best 1.8 blocks in 20 games with Efes.
