Lithuanian League, Game 4: October 23-25, 2009
Zalgiris keeps leading the Lithuanian League standings with a 6-0 record, with defending champion Lietuvos Rytas right behind at 4-0. Zalgiris registered consecutive wins this weekend to stay undefeated. On Friday, Zalgiris downed Siauliai 79-55 in Kaunas behind 14 points from Marcus Brown. Dainius Salenga and Marty Pocius each added 12 while Travis Watson and Arturas Milaknis had 10 apiece for Zalgiris. Derrick Low led Siauliai with 15 points. Zalgiris rolled since the opening tip, leading 25-15 after 10 minutes and boosting its margin to 64-37 at the end of the third quarter, enough to seal the outcome. On Sunday, Zalgiris topped Neptunas 62-69 on the road. Salenga led the winners with 18 points while Tadas Klimavicius added 17. A three-pointer by Salenga sealed the outcome, 57-67, with 3 minutes to go. L. Rytas beat Perlas 70-80 on the road on Saturday. Aron Baynes and Martynas Gecevicius led the winners each with 16 points. Milko Bjelica added 14 while Dejan Borovnjak had 10 for L. Rytas, that led 31-49 at halftime and only allowed Perlas to rally once the outcome was clear. Siauliai had also downed Perlas 101-66 on Friday with 15 points each from Low and Deivydas Gailius. Mindaugas Kuzminskas and Vytautas Saranauskas each added 14 while Brandon Brown and Arvydas Siksnius had 12 apiece in an easy home win for Siauliai. In other games, Sakalai beat Nevezis 79-72 while Alytus rallied from a 17-point halftime deficit to edge Aisciai 85-84 behind 26 points from Aurimas Adomaitis.
